Aging Americana or Italian

The art of aging furniture.  I don’t know how I learned this, but it is something that I appear to have a natural talent for.  I truly love this art form.  Taking a giant plaster swan that had been spray painted metallic pewter, using paint only, (just three colors), and transforming  it into an old white iron urn that is rusted with time, is just..well..it’s fun for me.   Some of these pieces are plaster, some plastic or resin, all were plain and ordinary and solid in color, mostly gray or beige.

Rusted Iron

This white iron bed received the rust treatment that gave it more interest...it brought an outdated piece to the present...by aging it...hummm?.

A simple white  plastic urn has been transformed into an old rusted cast iron beauty...
